About the Owner
Zobel Resort is the vision of Getnet Sahle, a Gondar native and architect with decades of experience shaping Ethiopia’s built environment.

After years of designing civic, cultural, and hospitality projects across the country, he returned to Gondar with a clear intention: to create a place that reflects the city’s history, landscape, and quiet strength while offering guests comfort and care.

Trained as an architect and urban planner, Getnet brings a deep respect for place, proportion, and purpose to every detail of the resort. His approach favors thoughtful design, lasting quality, and spaces that feel grounded rather than overdone.

Zobel Resort is both a personal project and a contribution to the city he calls home; designed to welcome visitors while honoring Gondar’s past and present.
